Fostered entrepreneurship and strengthened businesses

Regions Bank helped businesses succeed and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs by:

  • Launching the Birmingham Black-Owned Business Initiative to identify and amplify resources for Black entrepreneurs and address gaps where additional resources are needed
  • Leveraging the Regions Community Development Corporation® to provide approximately $100 million in debt and equity to more than thirty community development financial institutions (CDFIs), minority depository institutions (MDIs) and workforce development organizations across the Regions footprint since 2020
  • Sharing knowledge and experience with CDFIs and MDIs through in-person convenings and individualized technical assistance
  • Supporting entrepreneurship and business development conferences and training such as the Inner-City Capital Connections (ICCC) program and National Urban League Conference

Advanced quality education and career development

The Regions Foundation provided grants to organizations to help students improve educational outcomes, increase learning and assist with career advancement. These grants helped students complete their college degree, including veterans injured in the line of duty.

Supported people with disabilities

Serving people with disabilities is an important priority for the bank. In addition to offering accessible products and services to address the needs of this community, we also contribute to organizations supporting affordable, accessible housing; education and workforce training; economic opportunities and specially designed financial education to help them pursue their goals.
