Community Development and CRA
At Regions, we use our time, talent and resources to impact the financial health of the communities we serve. We focus on strengthening underserved areas and populations that often face greater barriers to financial success.
Community Development Lending & Investments
We invest in initiatives designed to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents and communities:
- Fund affordable housing including single-family, multi-family, owner-occupied and rental housing
- Spur neighborhood revitalization and improve the stability and quality of life conditions
- Promote economic development through activities that support permanent job creation/retention
- Foster small business growth through activities that create and/or strengthen small businesses in LMI geographies and areas targeted for redevelopment
Community Development Service
The key ways we work to influence positive changes in our communities include:
- Provide technical support to nonprofit, tribal or government organizations serving LMI housing needs or neighborhood revitalization and development
- Lend executives to organizations facilitating affordable housing construction and rehabilitation or development of affordable housing
- Provide home buyer education for LMI individuals to promote community development and affordable housing
- Conduct financial education activities at schools with mostly LMI students
Community Reinvestment Act Rating
The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (CRA) was enacted to ensure banks serve the needs of all their communities, including the needs of LMI areas through community development activities. The last CRA exam for Regions was performed in 2022 by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and Regions received an institutional rating of Satisfactory.
CRA Public File
In accordance with the Community Reinvestment Act, Regions is required to maintain a CRA Public file and make it available to anyone requesting it. The data is provided below for review. Regions can provide printed copies of these documents and may charge a reasonable fee to cover copying and mailing expenses. To request printed copies of these documents, please contact us at the e-mail or physical address listed below.
- A copy of the public section of the bank’s most recent CRA Performance Evaluation
- All written comments received from the public for the current and prior two calendar years that specifically relate to the bank’s performance in helping meet community credit needs and any response by the bank to the comments.
- A list of branches with their street locations and census tracts
- A list of branches opened or closed during the current year and each of the prior two calendar years
- A list of retail banking services (including hours of operation, available loan and deposit products, and transaction fees) generally offered at the bank’s branches
- A map of the bank’s CRA assessment areas showing its boundaries and census tracts
- The bank’s CRA Disclosure Statement
- A written notice about the bank’s HMDA Disclosure Statement
- A copy of the EnerBank CRA Strategic Plan
- A notice about Regulation G (CRA Sunshine Act)
