Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
At Regions Bank, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring and supporting our associates, customers and community partners.
I AM. WE ARE. – Celebrating Regions Associates
Our collective history is part of who we are, and Regions is a stronger company today because of our associates.
I AM. WE ARE. Meet Taylor…
Taylor, a Corporate Treasury Manager, shares her I AM story.
I AM. WE ARE. Meet Eddie…
I am a Senior Branch Manager at Regions Bank.
When I think of who I AM:
I am a husband, I am a father, I am a brother.
I am the grandson of Cuban exiles who migrated to the United States in 1960.
I am a Veteran and a patriot to our great country. I served in the U.S. Army with a special mission in Afghanistan.
I am a reliable and trustworthy friend.
I am a risk taker. My parents were taught to work hard and be thankful for what they had. Expanding my horizons and doing things my parents never did goes against the grain of the tradition I was raised in. By taking control of my future, I’ve challenged the idea that as Latinx we needed to stay under the radar.
During Hispanic Heritage Month I feel a special responsibility to keep my Cuban culture and heritage alive. It's the best job I'll ever have because it represents my truest identity.
Because of who I am, we are more ambitious, determined and resourceful.
I AM. WE ARE. Meet Karina…
When I think of who I AM:
I am an immigrant from Mexico, raised in South Texas, educated in Texas and Alabama, and enriched as a traveler of the world.
I am curious. I love walking tours of ancient cities, listening to guides speak about the history and meaning behind structures such as the steps of the pyramid of Chichén Itzá.
I am a daughter, a sister, the best friend with moxie, and my favorite title is “tía” or “aunt.”
I am proud to create a different version of a successful, joyful, self-reliant, woman for my nieces and nephew by breaking the cultural and familial mold that marriage and children are the only path to fulfillment.
I am a believer that we are here to serve others and that we must suck the marrow out of life to make this experience worthwhile.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, I undoubtedly love my indigenous and Spanish ancestry. I work to reconcile that my heritage comes from both the conquerors and the conquered.
Because of who I am, we are more intertwined, understanding and connected to the communities we serve.
Inclusive Prosperity
Community Engagement
The Latino Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence in Indianapolis, serves more than 2,200 clients across the state.
“We work with advocates, nurses, teachers, attorneys and social workers,” explained executive director Edwin Arellano. “Seeing people change their lives, it’s incredible. We see lives restored.”
And thanks to insights Arellano gained from a small-business workshop sponsored by Regions Bank, he’s uncovered ways to restore even more.
Supporting Small Business Owners
Colombian-born Manuel Gutierrez came to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. Gutierrez is the owner of Kite Technology USA Inc. and Kite Environmental Inc. In 2011, the University of Central Florida civil engineering graduate launched his business born out of his passion for the planet and the environment. In 2016 he was looking to grow his business and seeking a business credit card and small-business loans through Regions Bank. Since then, Gutierrez’ business needs have grown. Through SBA financing Regions provided the funds Gutierrez needed to purchase additional equipment, allowing his company to handle more than double the volume.
“My success is a team effort and one I could not have accomplished without my team members, as well as Regions Bank,” said Gutierrez.
